Railway Staff averts Unusual Train Incident

On Friday, 26th April, 2019, Shri Briz Mohan Meena, Keyman/Mandavalli averted unusual incident of Train no. 17479 Puri – Tirupati Express near Mandavalli Railway Station in Gudivada-Bhimavaram Section in Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway.

On Friday, Shri Briz Mohan Meena, Keyman/Mandavalli working under the control of SSE/P-Way/Kaikaluru was performing Keyman Patrolling duty between Kaikaluru and Mandavalli Railway Stations. At around 06:20 hrs, Shri Briz Mohan noticed Rail breakage at Kilometer 66/0-1 between Kaikaluru and Mandavalli railway station. He immediately informed the matter to Shri Guru Krishna, SSE/P-Way/Kaikaluru and Shri. Sudharshan, Station Superintendent, Mandavalli Railway Station for necessary action. But, Train no. 17479 Puri-Tirupati Express has already left Kaikaluru Railway Station and was inching close to the spot. 

Shri Briz Mohan Meena acted spontaneously by exhibiting danger signal to the incoming 17479 Puri-Tirupati Express, averting an unusual incident. The rail breakage was attended by SSE/P-Way/Engineering staff and the train movement was restored at 06:50 hrs (within 30 minutes).

Shri P. Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager, Shri M.V.S. Ramaraju, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure), Smt. G. Sumana, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager (Operations), Shri K. Suryanarayana, Sr. DEN (Co-ord) and other branch officers appreciated Shri Briz Mohan Meena for his sincere efforts and alertness on duty.
