Cleanliness Awareness Campaign conducted as part of Swachhta Pakhwara

Vijayawada Division conducted ‘Cleanliness Awareness Campaign’ and ‘Anti-littering drives’ at all major Railway stations as a part of Swachhata Hi Sewa – Swachhata Pakhwara on 18th September, 2019.

As a part of Swachh Awareness campaign, Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway, Shri M. Bharat Ram, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajahmundry distributed cloth bags and saplings to School Children in the presence of Shri. S. Suryanarayana, MLA, Anaparti and Shri P. Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager at Rajahmundry Railway Station.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gajanan Mallya, GM/SCR, appreciated branch officers for setting up nurseries at Eluru, Samlkot and Bhimavaram in Vijayawada Division as a part of beautification of Railways. Interacting with Print & Electronic Media, Shri Gajanan Mallya, GM/SCR said that cleanliness campaigns and anti-littering drives are being taken up at all major stations over South Central Railway as a part of fortnight long cleanliness campaign – Swachhata Pakhwara. General Manager appealed to esteemed rail users to refrain from using “single use plastic” (below 50 microns). 

Swachhata awareness campaigns and Anti-littering drives were conducted at all major railway stations and depots. Cloth bags and Saplings were also distributed to students and passengers to promote clean & green initiative.

Shri M.V.S. Ramaraju, ADRM (Infrastructure), Smt. G. Sumana, ADRM (Operations), Shri. E. Santharam, Sr. DEN/Co-ord, Shri Ram Chandra Sahoo, Sr. DEnHM, Shri. K. Srinivas, Sr. DME, Shri P. Nehamiah, Sr. DPO Shri Ramesh Gaikward, DEnHM, Shri. Varun Babu, DEN/East, Shri K. Rajendra Prasad, DCM & In-charge PRO, Shri Ch. Suresh, Station Director, other Branch officers and staff participated in Swachhata Campaign and Anti-littering drives.
