Nukkad Nataks organised for Safety Awareness at Level Crossings









The Safety Department of Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway organised Nukkad Nataks at Manned Level Crossing near Nellore Railway Station today, i,e., 26th December 2019.

The nukkad natak campaign was organised to create awareness among the people in general and road users in particular. “The activities should be directed at promoting safety at level crossings. The sole purpose is to create safety awareness among masses”, said Shri P. Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division.

Shri M. V. S. Ramaraju, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure) said that such awareness seminars must be conducted regularly to bring about attitude change in road users. Smt. G. Sumana, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) opined that messages conveyed through such non-conventional means and in the language of the masses drives home the message easily.

The themes conveyed through the nukkad natak conveyed various topics, viz., not to carry inflammables, gas cylinders, dangerous items by train; to avoid trespassing, to use foot over bridge & use lift old age people, not to board a running train, and to avoid using ear phones and taking selfies near railway tracks. Shri P Raghunath Reddy, Sr. Divisional Safety Officer applauded the work of the participants in conducting the nukkad natak. 

Travel Advisory for Road Users: Do not to trespass railway gate if it’s closed. Please do not pressurise gateman to open the gate and also do not go below the gate with/without two wheelers.
