Ticket Checking squad nabs Fake Railway Employee on Train

On 5 December, 2019, a team of Central Ticket Checking Squad, Railway Board  Shri. Paruchuri. Sandeep, Dy. Chief Ticket Inspector and Shri. ST. Kumar Guru, Dy. Chief Ticket Inspector conducted a check by Train No. 22415 Visakhapatnam-New Delhi AP AC Express between Vijayawada and Khammam stations.  While inspecting second AC coaches, a passenger was found travelling on a privilege pass from Visakhapatnam to Bhopal with wife son and daughter in A4 compartment whose reservation was made in A2 compartment. Upon scrutinizing the minute details of the pass like validity, issuing authority and on subsequent questioning of the passenger, it was detected that he is not a Railway servant, but a lawyer travelling as a Chief Ticket Inspector (CTI) of Mumbai, Central Railway on a fake first class privilege pass, which was bought from an outsider at Visakhapatnam.

Later it was also found that, he was holding one more fake pass with same pass number with designation as CTI/Kurdha/E.Co Rly on which reservation was made in A3 from Vijayawada to Bhopal on same date by same train which he did not utilise. The party was de-trained at Khammam Railway station and was handed over to Govt. Railway Police/Khammam and FIR was lodged subsequently.

Shri. P. Bhaskar Reddy, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Vijayawada appreciated both the TTE’s of Railway Board for their due diligence, resourcefulness in tracing and reporting such deceitful methods which undermines the Railway’s revenue.
