Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR conducts inspection of Rayanapadu Wagon Workshop and reviews Divisional performance

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway undertook extensive inspection of Rayanapadu Wagon Workshop on 9th January, 2020. He was accompanied by Shri P. Srinivas, DRM, Vijayawada, Shri J.K.Jain, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, SCR, Shri Rajiv Kishore, Principal Chief Personal Officer, SCR, Shri V R. Mishra, Pricipal Chief Material Manager, SCR Shri Birendra Sinku, Chief Workshop Manager, Rayanapadu and Smt G.Sumana, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager, Operations, Vijayawada throughout the inspection.

Shri Gajanan Mallya commenced his inspection at Wagon Workshop by inspecting Staff canteen, Body Shop and interacted with Workshop staff and advised them to wear personal protective gear while on duty. GM inaugurated Electrical Mill Wright Stores, tea and snacks refreshment Centre for staff, surface traverse machine and inspected Mechanical and Goods Stores depot, Stripping Shop and component shop.

Shri Gajanan Mallya inaugurated 50.7KWP solar plant, Electrical substation with a backup of 500 KVA DG set for feeding electrical energy to Body Shop and participated in plantation drive with PHOD’s near Body Shop. GM inspected the working of newly installed Robotic Cleaning Distributor Valve machine, portable air cnc plasma cutting machines and surface traverse machines. GM also inspected Basic training centre, New Bogie repair bay, Paint shop and Administrative building and inaugurated roof top solar plant. Representatives of SCRMU SCRES met GM and submitted their representations. GM also inspected the newly renovated Railway Hospital at Rayanapadu with 25 bed capacity.

Earlier Shri Gajanan Mallya participated in the review meeting on Wagon Workshop performance for the current financial year. Shri Birendra Sinku, Chief Workshop Manager gave PowerPoint presentation and appraised the GM about the latest initiatives and innovative techniques deployed to reduce the work pressure on staff. Shri Gajanan Mallya expressed his happiness over state of affairs and practices adopted at Workshop. He complimented them for introducing 100 % biometric attendance and  advised to increase the present capacity of handling Periodic Overhauling of freight wagons from 525 to 700 per month in the workshop. GM also stressed on the importance of quality of painting of wagons to prevent it from corrosion and subsequent leakage and defects.

At the conclusion of workshop inspection, Shri Gajanan Mallya announced a group cash award of Rs. 2.5 Lakh for the excellent and dedicated hard work done by the staff in improving productivity, cleanliness, and maintaining state of the art facilities along with technological up gradation.

In the afternoon, Gajanan Mallya inspected the third line works, Central Railway Goods line and proposed modification of bulb line works at New West Block cabin and Vijayawada yard in OHE Tower car along with Branch Officers.

Later, Shri Gajanan Mallya reviewed Divisional performance of Vijayawada for the current financial year and advised the branch Officers to expedite the undergoing station redevelopment works at Vijayawada, Branch line doubling and other infrastructural works in stipulated time.

Viswanath Reddy, Sr. DSTE, Shri K. Srinivas, Sr. DME/C&W, Shri Gajendra Kumar, Sr. DEE/TRD, Shri. K Rama Rao, Sr.DEN/North, Shri S. Muni Reddy, Sr.DEE/TRSO, Shri P. Nehemiah, Sr. DPO, Shri Sachin Bhalode, Sr. DSC and Other branch officers participated in the review meeting.
