Payment of refunds for the advance reservation tickets pertaining to the cancelled train services from 21st March, 2020

With a view towards gradual restoration of train services and also to facilitate the rail users with extended service the PRS (Reservation) counters are opened from  22nd May, 2020 for issuing of reserved Journey tickets. Accordingly, a total of 90 Reservation (PRS) counters at 82 locations are being operated across the zone.

 

However, the refund of fare on the previously booked journey tickets for the cancelled trains will be arranged from these PRS counters with effect from 25th May, 2020.

 

In this regard, it is relevant to mention that, in view of outbreak of Covid-19 refund rules are liberalised to the most possible extent to make convenient for the rail users. Accordingly, full refund will be given for the Tickets booked through Reservation (PRS) Counters for commencing the journey by regular train services which are cancelled from 21stMarch, 2020 until further orders can be obtained through PRS counters up to six months from the date of journey.

 

Hence, passengers are requested not to hurry for taking refund and shall make use the benefit of liberalised refund rules and are requested to approach counters at the convenient time so that mass contact can be avoided at the reservation counters in the prevailing pandemic situation.
