Special Train Services resumes over Vijayawada Division

New Delhi-Chennai Central Special Train Arrive/Depart from Vijayawada Station amidst elaborate & fool proof arrangements made by the Divisional staff
As part of the partial restoration of Passenger services on Indian Railways in a graded manner,  Special Train no. 02434 New Delhi to Chennai Central – was handled at Vijayawada Railway Station on 14th May, 2020. Train No. 02434 New Delhi-Chennai AC Special train reached Vijayawada station 14:35 hrs, wherein 318 passengers have alighted from the Special Train on platform no.1, while another 242 out of 282 booked passengers have boarded the Special train to Chennai. 

To handle the passengers at the Vijayawada Station elaborate arrangements were made so as to ensure coordinated movement of the passengers for safe travel in the wake of prevailing situation of COVID-19:

>> The entire station was properly cleaned and disinfected for the safe travel of the passengers. 
>> Separate entry and exit gates were nominated to handle the incoming and outgoing passengers at the Railway Station.
>> Proper checking arrangements were made so as to ensure that only Confirmed passengers are allowed to enter the station. 
>> Thermal screening of all the passengers having confirmed tickets was carried out and only asymptomatic passengers were allowed into the Station. 
>> All the passengers were segregated into different groups as per their coaches and were guided to their respective coaches with the help of TTEs & RPF
>> Sanitizers were made available for the benefit of the passengers coming in to the Station.
>> Proper markings were done on the Platform areas for guiding the passengers to practice social distancing while at the Station. 
>> Thorough check was done to ensure that all passengers are wearing face masks/face cover.
>> Similarly, thermal screening was done for all the Passengers alighting from the Special Train at the Station. The passengers who were found asymptotic were advised to do Home quarantine.
>> Self assessment test in Arogya Setu App was checked  and  the app was also installed by  the TTEs  in many other passengers smart phones to ensure  easy contact surveillance
>> License Porters were called for duty to assist passengers with luggage
>> Frequent announcements were made regularly advising them to follow the staff instructions
>> Strict social distancing measures were followed while boarding and alighting

Shri P. Bhaskar Reddy, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Shri Sachin Bhalode, Sr. Divisional Security Commissioner, Shri K. Rajendra Prasad, DCM, Shri Chakradhar, ASC, Ms. Nusrat Mandrupkar, PRO monitored the arrangements at Vijayawada Station and worked in coordination with the State Govt Officials to ensure safe & smooth journey. Many Passengers expressed their happiness & satisfaction for the arrangements made by the staff and thanked the Indian Railways for passengers resuming its operations.

Shri P Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada overlooked the arrangements being made by the Division for proper handling of the passengers at the Station. He complimented Commercial & Security team and Staff for making elaborate arrangements for safe handling of passengers at the Station. He also expressed happiness on the feedback received from the Rail Users taken by the Officials/staff and instructed to maintain the same standards going forward for ensuring smooth travel for the passengers coming to the Station.
