Shri Gajanan Mallya, GM, SCR inaugurates Newly constructed OPD Block at Railway Hospital, Vijayawada

GM Inspects Mega FOB, Station Development works at Vijayawada Station & inaugurates New Sports Facilities at Railway Officer’s Club

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway inaugurated newly constructed OPD block at Railway Hospital Vijayawada on 16th February, 2021. Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager was accompanied by Shri P. Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada and Shri Md. Naseer Ahmed, In charge Chief Medical Superintendent, Vijayawada. The new OPD Block with state of art facilities at Railway Hospital was constructed by RVNL team with a cost of Rs. 5 Crore approx. in a sprawling area of 3000 square yards adjacent to the existing Railway Hospital with separate entrance and parking facility.

This new facility consists of 13 Doctor Consultation rooms, one dispensary, and registration with two pathways leading to the existing Railway hospital in ground floor and two Doctor Rooms and male & female dormitories for patient attendants in first floor. The building is beautified with vertical garden plantation in a classy and appealing manner on both sides in addition to its impressive elevation. The building is currently undergoing IGBC Green Building –Platinum Certification and fully equipped with 5 star rated electrical appliances in view of energy conservation. The New OPD block also consists of rain water harvesting pits and also has a 10 KWP Solar panels on roof top in addition to High SRI roof tiles in the terrace to reduce heat inflow.

Toilet Clusters with one exclusive for staff and Doctors

Shri Gajanan Mallya inspected all the Doctor Consultation rooms and facilities in first floor and expressed immense happiness and lauded the RVNL officials for their commendable job in executing the project. General Manger said that patients can now avail the services of new OPD block with improved ease of access.

Earlier, Shri Gajanan Mallya inspected the Mega Foot Over Bridge constructed with a cost of Rs. 9 Crore approx. connecting all the Platforms along with two escalators worth Rs. 1 Crore each on Platform-1 & 10. Shri Gajanan Mallya inspected new reservation office, booking office in the cellar area and the beautification works in the circulating area and advised the officials to expedite the pending projects.

Later, Shri Gajanan Mallya also inaugurated New Sports facilities complex at Railway Officers Club Vijayawada which consists of Table tennis area, Squash courts, badminton courts and new gym equipment.
