Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway celebrates 75th Independence Day

​South Central Railway – Vijayawada Division celebrated 75th Independence Day at Divisional Headquarters at DRM’s Office Compound, Vijayawada today at i.e., on 15th August 2021. Shri Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

​Shri. Shivendra Mohan, DRM hoisted the National Flag on the occasion of 75th Independence Day. DRM accompanied by Shri G. Madhusudhan Rao, ASC/BZA inspected the parade contingents of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Scouts & Guides and received the ‘Guard of Honour’ at a limited gathering of Railway Officials and Staff.  On this momentous occasion, Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM addressed the gathering by reading out South Central Railway, General Manager’s Independence Day Message to the Officers and Staff.

After delivering the GM’s address, Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM presented Certificate of Merit to 35 employees of the Division from various Departments for their valuable services during the pandemic second wave. Shri Shivendra Mohan also presented Rs.25,000 Cash award to RPF Department for the arrangements and presenting an impressive parade. A live streaming link was provided to witness the Independence Day celebrations in order to avoid a large congregation in view of the present situation of Covid-19. Shri G. Sudheer Kumar, Sr. DPO/BZA proposed vote of thanks and concluded the event.

Later, Smt. Jaya Mohan, President, SCRWWO, Vijayawada along with Vice Presidents, General Secretary, and Executive Members of SCRWWO, Vijayawada hoisted Indian National Flag at Jack & Jill English Medium School near Railway Station and interacted with the teaching faculty of the school. SCRWWO also distributed fruits and biscuits to the inpatients of Divisional Railway Hospital, Vijayawada.
