Passenger Amenities Committee inspects Gudur, Nellore and Venkatachalam Railway Stations


​Members of Passengers Amenties Committee (PAC) constituted by Railway Board inspected Gudur, Nellore and Venkatachalam stations on 7th September, 2021. Shri. P. Madhusudhana (Karnataka), Shri. Dr. G.V. Manjunath (Karnataka), Smt. Nirmala Kishore Bollina (Andhra Pradesh), Shri. K. Ravichandran (Tamil Nadu) and Smt. Gottala Uma Rani (Telangana) took part in the station inspection progaramme and checked the passenger amenities provided at these stations. Shri P. Bhaskar Reddy, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Vijayawada accompanied the members of PAC throughout the inspection.  The main object of the inspection by this committee is to make Railway Stations user friendly, check amenities on stations and on trains and to recommend/advise any shortfall in amenities to Railway Board for implementation. 
 
At the outset, Shri P. Bhaskar Reddy, Sr. DCM, briefed the PAC members about the footfall, Passenger amenities available and Division Profile to the members.  Members commenced the inspection at Gudur Railway Station on Platform no.1 and inspected the General Waiting hall, Ladies Waiting Hall, Baby Breast Feeding Corners., RO water vending stalls, CCTV surveillance systems, Toilets, Drinking Water Taps, Reservation Office and First Aid Kit available in case of causalities. They inspected the newly constructed FOB, Escalators, provision of Charging Sockets, Fans, Toilets and divyang jan amenities on island platforms 2&3 and 4. They expressed their satisfaction with regard to the cleanliness and Passenger amenities and maintenance at the station and advised the officials to, provide more number of CC cameras, Monitors for surveillance, provision of shelter on newly opened platform no .4, Passenger Amenities Board at the entrance on both sides, provision of Bio toilet, fans on Platform no.4 and separate spacious cubicles for breast feeding mothers. They also instructed the officials to ensure all the Divyang Jan amenities provided are maintained properly.
 
Later, Members proceeded to Venkatachalam by road and conducted thorough inspection of station. They inspected drinking water taps, General waiting hall, Divyang Jan amenities, FOB and toilets.
 
In the afternoon, the committee proceeded to Nellore Railway Station and conducted extensive inspection of amenities available at the station. PAC members commenced the inspection from West side main entrance and inspected the General waiting Halls, Ladies Waiting Hall, Lifts, Escalators Toilets, RO Water Vending Machines, Working of fans, charging sockets, Wheel Chair Facilities for Sr. Citizens and Divyang Jan amenities on platform no .1, island platforms 2&3 and concluded the inspection.
 
Shri R.C. Sahoo, Sr.DEnHM, Shri Mirza Qadir Baig, AO, Krishnapatnam, Shri K. Ramesh, ADSTE, Nellore, Shri E. Sudarshan Reddy, ADEN, Nellore, Other Officers and staff participated in the inspection.
