Passenger Services Committee inspect Gudur and Nellore Railway Stations
Members of Passengers Services Committee (PSC) constituted by Railway Board inspected Gudur and Nellore Railway stations today, i.e., 14th September, 2021. Shri Ramesh Chandra Ratn, Chairman, Passenger Services Committee, Shri Shivaraj K Gandge, Shri Pranab Baruah, Shri Dugyala Pradeep Kumar, Smt. Babita Parmar and Shri Gangadhar Talupula took part in the station inspection progaramme and interacted with passengers. Shri D Srinivasa Rao, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure) Vijayawada Division, SCR accompanied the members of PSC throughout the inspection. The main objective of the inspection is to obtain passenger feedback on cleanliness, amenities, valuable suggestions for improvement and recommending steps concerning consumer’s insights on passenger services to Railway Board for implementation.
Members commenced the inspection at Gudur Railway Station and inspected the Ladies Waiting Hall on Platform No.1, RO water vending machines, CCTV surveillance systems and toilets. Members interacted with passengers and obtained their feedback on cleanliness, passenger amenities provided at the station. They inspected all the catering stalls, availability of baby food, quality of water used for cooking food, hygiene, expiry date of the provisions used for preparation, safety precautions undertaken by the management. They also inspected the quality of the water at the RO water vending machines, drinking water troughs with TDS meter and found its quality well within the prescribed limits. PSC members also inspected amenities for Divyangjan. They inspected all the platforms thoroughly.
Later, Members proceeded to Nellore by road and conducted extensive station inspection by interacting with the passengers for their feedback. They inspected the food stalls and expiry dates of dairy products, waiting halls, RO water vending machines and Divyang Toilets. They inspected Ladies waiting hall, Baby feeding corner available at waiting halls. PSC members expressed their satisfaction with regard to the cleanliness and Passenger amenities and maintenance at the station and advised the officials to, provide a greater number of CC cameras for surveillance and increase the number of dustbins on platforms and lavatories.
Shri Ramesh Chandra Ratn, Chairman, Passenger Services Committee presented cash prize of Rs.10,000 to Officers and Staff for showing exemplary services towards the passengers and for excellent upkeep of the amenities.
Shri P Bhaskar Reddy, Sr.DCM; Shri N. Bhanu Surya Prakash, Sr. DEN/South; Shri S. Muni Reddy, Sr. DEE/M; Shri R. Viswanath Reddy, Sr. DSTE, other officers and staff of Vijayawada Division participated in the inspection.
