Oxygen Plant with 500LPM capacity at Railway Hospital, Vijayawada











Shri Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao, Hon’ble Minister of Endowments, Govt of A.P inaugurated PSA Oxygen Plant with 500LPM capacity at Railway Hospital, Vijayawada

Shri Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao, Hon’ble Minister of Endowments, Govt of A.P inaugurated the 500 LPM (Litres per minute) PSA (Pressure swing Adsorption) Oxygen Plant on 7th October, 2021 at Railway Hospital, Vijayawada. Shri. K. Ravindra Kumar, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Smt. R. Bhagyalakshmi, Mayor, Vijayawada, and Smt U. Harika, Zilla Parishad, Kishna District took part in the event today along with Shri Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Shri D. Srinivasa Rao, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Infrastructure and Dr. M. Sri Lakshmi, Chief Medical Superintendent, Railway Hospital, Vijayawada.

This Oxygen Generation plant have been procured with an approximate expenditure of Rs. 65 lakhs. These units were manufactured by Summits Hygronics Pvt. Ltd, Coimbatore and set up at Railway hospital, Vijayawada in a short duration of 10 days. Previously in the month of June, 2021 two oxygen generation units each with a capacity of 250 LPM was inaugurated by Shri Gajanan Mallya, GM, SCR virtually. With this Railway Hospital, Vijayawada is now equipped with 1000 LPM Capacity Oxygen Generation Plants for the benefit of Railway Patients. In addition to this, 2 Kilo Litre capacity Liquid Medical Oxygen Tank has also been installed at Railway hospital, Vijayawada in view of Covid-19 pandemic.

Later, all the dignitaries and the officials participated in the meeting at Divisional Railway Auditorium, Vijayawada and witnessed the live weblink telecast of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji wherein he dedicated PSA Oxygen Plant (PM CARES funded) to the Nation from AIIMS, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

Interacting with media, Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM said that this new installation will cater to the needs of the patients in case of any emergency. He also said that initially Hospital administration were dependent on Local suppliers for Oxygen during peak second wave and with the current installation, we will be able to handle complete oxygen needs of the Railway Hospital even in case of Covid surge. He lauded the efforts of Hospital administration for their earnest efforts to increase the Oxygen capacity at Railway Hospital.
