Cricket Tournament organized for Electric Loco Shed Staff, Vijayawada

Engineer’s Team emerges victorious and claims the ELS Trophy

South Central Railway, Vijayawada Division organized Cricket Tournament for Electric Loco Shed Staff from 24th -30th March, 2022 at Rail Mini Stadium, Vijayawada. Shri D. Srinivasa Rao, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Infrastructure inaugurated the tournament along with Shri Ch. Dinesh Reddy, Sr. Divisional Electrical Engineer, Electric Loco Shed, Vijayawada. Total 7 teams participated in the tourney and 7 no. of matches were conducted in knock out fashion in 15 overs format.  80 no. of Staff working in various sections of ELS participated. The ELS Cricket tournament is regularly conducted every year since last 20 years among various sections of ELS. Owing to Covid-19, the tournament was not conducted for the past 2 years. Marking the Ruby Jubilee year- 40th Anniversary of Electric Loco Shed, Vijayawada, the Cricket tournament was conducted in a grand manner with wide participation from the staff.

Engineers Team lead by Shri Jaya Kumar won the tournament by defeating Bogies section led by Shri Ravinder in the finals held today i.e. 30th March, 2022 at Rail Mini Stadium.

Dinesh Reddy, Sr. DEE, ELS and Shri Valleswara Babji. T, Sr.DSC & Divisional Sports Officer congratulated the winners of the tournament and staff for participating with great enthusiasm.
