Divisional Officer & Staff bags Railway Board Awards at 67th Railway Week Celebrations


Shri R. Viswanath Reddy, Senior Divisional Telecom Engineer, Vijayawada Division and Shri T.S. Chandra Sekhar Reddy, Inspector, RPF, Vijayawada Division bagged the prestigious Railway Board Award, which is the utmost recognition of their services at National Level at 67th Railway Week Awards function held at Rail Auditorium, Bhubaneswar held on 28th May, 2022.

1. Shri R. Viswanath Reddy,  working as Senior Divisional Signaling Telecommunication Engineer, Vijayawada. He is sincere, hardworking and highly conscientious officer with 7 years of exemplary service. He has made remarkable improvement in reducing the signalling failure incidences by 31%, compared to previous Non-Covid years (2019-2020). This was possible due to his proactive efforts in training of the staff in aspects like modern signaling and effective preventive maintenance. He was instrumental in ensuring quality commissioning of 60 km of Third Line works and 120 km of Branch Line Doubling Works. He proactively implemented various e-office initiatives such as Cable Protective Management Systems, GPS-based Emergency Socket Communications etc. Under his supervision, Integrated Cable Path Plans were updated for 80 Block Sections out of 110 Block Sections across Vijayawada Division which indirectly reduces the cable cuts. He was also presented with General Manager Award in the year-2019 for his outstanding performance.

2. Shri T. S. Chandrasekhar Reddy, Inspector, RPF, Vijayawada Post joined Railway Protection Force as Sub-Inspector during 1999 and rendered 22 years of commendable service at major and important RPF posts over South Central Railway. He has evinced great interest in crime detection and was instrumental in detecting number of qualitative Special report cases under RP(UP) Act, ToPB (Theft of public Belongings) cases, Touts, Drugging & Ganja etc. Throughout his service, he has shown true professionalism, sincerity, courage, honesty and faith in doing hard work. During the years 2017-2018 & 2018-2019 as Inspector, Kacheguda RPF Post, he had done outstanding work and effectively led the CPDS team and succeeded in detection of 25 Theft of Passenger belonging cases with the recovery of stolen property worth about Rs.8,93,000/- and apprehension of one notorious interstate Drugging accused by name Md. Mustaqim Khan N/o West Bengal along with  recovery of stolen property in 7 Drugs cases worth 4,28,000/-. He was also instrumental in apprehending 04 inter-State ganja traffickers with the recovery of 82 Kgs of Dry ganja worth Rs.4,10,000/- and also apprehended 40 Kgs of Silver worth Rs.16,00,000/- which was illegally transported.
