Vijayawada Division celebrates International Yoga Day







South Central Railway Vijayawada Division celebrated International Yoga Day across the length of the Division on June 21, 2022. A special Yoga event was organized at Railway Function Hall, Beside Railway Officers Club. Vijayawada. Shri Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Shri D Srinivasa Rao, ADRM, Infrastructure and Shri M. Srikanth, ADRM, Operations were the Guests of Honour. Around 600 employees from various departments of Vijayawada Division participated in the Yoga Event.

At the outset Shri M. Bala Muralidhar, Sr.DPO, Vijayawada welcomed the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM, Vijayawada said that Yoga is a ancient science and immensely benefits the health of the individuals practising it daily. He said that Yoga should be practiced every day and make it part of everyone’s routine to beat the daily stress and other ailments of today’s lifestyle. The DRM also said that through Yoga an individual can achieve balance, strength, flexibility, energy and brighter mood. He advised the staff to inculcate the practice of performing Yoga asanas for better performance in professional life especially the frontline staff and Loco Pilots to handle stress.

Renowned Yoga Master Shri I.S.Ramanjaneyulu, M.SC. (Yoga), NIS attended the event as distinguished guest and taught various yoga asanas. All the staff participated in the event with great enthusiasm and zeal, and followed the yoga protocol with great discipline. 

Shri Shivendra Mohan felicitated yoga master Shri I.S. Ramanjaneyulu for his valuable yoga lessons to the staff and congratulated the Personnel Department team of Vijayawada Division for organising the event in splendid manner.

All the Branch Officers and staff participated in the event today at Railway Function Hall, Vijayawada

Similarly at, Vijayawada Railway Station and Electric Traction Training Centre, Satyanarayanapuram, Vijayawada Yoga camps were organised for staff and trainee Loco pilots respectively. At Wagon Depot, Kakinada Port 200 staff took part in the yoga event held today and made it a huge success.
