Vijayawada Division Women Athletes shine at 87th All India Railway Athletic Championship held at Rae Bareli

Divisional Athletes secure One Gold and Seven Silver Medals in various events at National level

 The Women Athletes of Vijayawada Division representing South Central Railway Athletic team made us all proud by securing many medals at the 87th All India Railway Athletic Championship held at Rae Bareli (U.P) from 29th to 31st August 2022. Four Female Athletes o the  Vijayawada Division have shown outstanding performance and  secured One Gold & Seven Silver Medals in various athletic events at National Level. The following are the details of the winners at the All India Railway Athletic Championship

1) G.Karthika, Senior Clerk, Commercial Department has won One GOLD MEDAL in Triple Jump(12.88mts), Two SILVER MEDALS in Long Jump(6.10mts) and 4X100mts relay.

2) M.Sowmiya, Junior Clerk, Engineering Department has secured Three SILVER MEDALS in 100mts Hurdles, Heptathlon and 4X100mts relay

3) Preethi Lamba, Junior Clerk, Engineering Department has secured One SILVER MEDAL in 3000 steeplechase. 

4) M.Akila, Junior Clerk, Mechanical Department has secured one SILVER MEDAL in 4X100mts Relay. 

Because of their outstanding and brilliant performance, SCR Women Athletes team secured 3rd position in "Over all Championship" at the All India Railway Athletic Championship.

Srikanth, ADRM, Operations;  Shri Valleswara.B Tokkala, Divisional Sports Officer and Senior Divisional Security Commissioner (RPF), Shri E.Santharam, Senior Divisional Engineer, Co-ordination;  Sri Vavilapalli .Ram Babu, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Shri M.Ravi Kiran, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer congratulated the above Athletes for their tremendous performance at All India Railway Athletic Championship.
