SCRWWO, Vijayawada Division celebrates Children's Day
Launches "Gift A Book" campaign across the Division
South Central Railway Women Welfare Organisation (SCRWWO), Vijayawada Division celebrated Children's Day at Divisional Railway Auditorium, Vijayawada on 14th November, 2022. Dr. Jaya Mohan, President, SCRWWO, Vijayawada, SCR graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Dr. M. Sri Lakshmi, Chief Medical Superintendent, Railway Hospital, Vijayawada was the Guest of Honour. Around 400 students from across the Division, and Jack and Jill School run by SCRWWO took part in the Children's Day celebrations today.
As part of 55th National Library Week Celebrations, SCRWWO launched Gift A Book” campaign across the Division. The campaign is aimed to build Children's Library at Jack n School Vijayawada. On the initial day of the campaign 350 books were collected across the Division from various Departments.
Addressing the students, Dr. Jaya Mohan, President, SCRWWO, Vijayawada said that Childhood is the most beautiful time in everyone's life and the memories are forever. Dr Jaya Mohan advised the students to be better version of themselves and strive for development and unity of Nation in all spheres. She said that a strong basic foundation rooted with ethics, discipline and wisdom in the school for the students will pave the way for the vibrant and vocal Nation. She appealed everyone to gift a book for building a good children's library for students.
Dr. M. Sri Lakshmi, CMS, Railway Hospital Vijayawada urged the parents to let children be part of nature and explore it, as it stimulates creativity among the children. She also advised the parents to keep a tab on screen time of the children and encourage them in healthy social interactions and discussions.
Earlier, Dr. Jaya Mohan; Dr. M Sri Lakshmi and Smt. D Sridevi Srinivasa, SCRWWO, Vice President, Vijayawada distributed prizes to the 38 students who took part and excelled in various competitions like Painting, Essay writing held in the past two months for the wards of Railway employees across the Division. 12 Students of Jack n Jill and rest of wards of Railway Employees across the Division were awarded on the occasion.
Initially "Lion King" animated movie was played in the auditorium for the Children. Smt. D. Sridevi, SCRWWO Vice President; Smt. Surekha Reddy, Secretary, Executive Members of SCRWWO, Teachers and faculty of Jack and Jill took part in event at Auditorium.
