Seminar on enhancing the share of “UTS” Mobile App, and promote Digital transactions in Ticketing conducted at Rajahmundry
“UTS” App - an easy way to get unreserved railway tickets without waiting in Queue line
Commercial Department of South Central Railway conducted Seminar on ‘Passenger Business’ with focus on proliferating the adoption of “UTS” mobile app and digital transactions in ticketing at Railway Institute, Rajahmundry today i.e., 22nd November, 2022. Shri K Sambasiva Rao, Chief Commercial Manager (CCM), Passenger Marketing (PM), South Central Railway graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Key note Speaker. Shri Rambabu Vavilapalli IRTS, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Vijayawada Division and other Senior Officials of Vijayawada Division participated in the seminar at Rajahmundry.
At the outset Shri K Sambasiva Rao IRTS, CCM, PM lighted the lamp and inaugurated the event. Shri P. Kiran Kumar, IRTS, DCM welcomed the dignitaries on to the dais.
Shri K. Sambasiva Rao, CCM, PM gave detailed power point presentation on enhancing the adoption of “UTS” mobile app among the passengers and steps to be taken to increase the utilization of Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) available at major Stations. Shri K. Sambasiva Rao, CCM, PM stressed on the need for increasing the share of digital payments through PoS machines using debit/credit cards and UPI in ticketing.
He also said that by adopting UTS and increasing digital and cashless transactions, the work load on the staff and stress on printing Stationary gets reduced immensely. He appealed to Divisional staff to increase the share of UTS App in Ticketing to 20 % by year end and encourage Cashless transactions through UPI.
Shri Rambabu Vavilapalli IRTS, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Vijayawada Division in his address highlighted the need to leverage technology and proliferate easy methods of ticketing such as “UTS” app and Automatic Ticket Vending Machines at Stations by taking up public awareness campaigns. He advised the staff to focus on increasing the percentage of UTS tickets in total tickets purchased across the Division by popularizing the UTS app among Passengers through intense awareness drives.
A large number of railway commercial department staff in the cadre of booking supervisors, commercial inspectors, ticket inspectors and reservation supervisors from Vijayawada Division participated in this Seminar at Rajahmundry and shared their views/suggestions on further improving the Passenger Business with focus on enhancing the adoption of digital modes of ticketing.
