'Four Employees of Vijayawada Division receive GM SCR’s “Man of the Month” Safety Awards'
Shri Narendra A Patil Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway presented General Manager’s “Man of the Month” Safety Awards to 4 employees of Vijayawada Division for showing alertness in the duty and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions. He presented the awards during the virtual safety meeting held on 12th September 2023. Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway along with Principal Heads of Departments from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, and Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Nanded Divisions from their respective offices participated in the meeting through video conference.
The General Manger reviewed the punctuality and loading performance of the Zone and instructed the officials to have more interaction with field staff to further improve focus on safety. He advised all the Divisional Railway Managers to accord top priority for the safety of the train services. Shri Narendra A Patil while giving the awards congratulated the staff and asked them to focus on safety aspects in each of their domains while keeping special focus on abnormalities on train passing duties.
Four Employees of Vijayawada Division bagged the “Man of the Month” Safety Awards for the month of August 2023
1. Shri M. Venu, LPM/BZA received Safety Award for keen observation and alertness while on duty about a rail breakage while working Train No.12616 (New Delhi-Chennai) on 16.08.2023.
2. Shri G. Durga Prasad, Sr.Tech./PF/ BZA received Safety Award for noticing IV couplers of a train hanging and rubbing rails, and also finding few broken cables in a train on Platform at Vijayawada Station on 24.08.2023. His observations helped the Electrical Staff to secure the couplers and cables in time.
3. Shri Srinivasa Rao, Track maintainer-II/Bapatla on 11.08.2023 while performing as Acting Keyman duty between noticed SEJ Crack at major bridge location. He immediately protected the track and informed to all concerned averting a major mishap in mid-section. He received Safety Award for keen observation and alertness.
4. Shri O.Anil Kumar, Tech.I/C&W/OGL on 26.08.2023 noticed heavy smoke and sparks in a goods train passing Ongole Station. He advised to guard and on-duty Dy.SS/OGL of the train through walkie talkie to stop the train. His keen observation and alertness averted a major mishap. He received Safety Award for keen observation and alertness.
