132nd Divisional Rail Users Consultative Committee Meeting Of Vijayawada Division held
South Central Railway – Vijayawada Division conducted 132nd Divisional Rail Users Consultative Committee(DRUCC) Meeting through virtual mode, today, i.e., on 23rd February, 2023. Shri Narendra A. Patil, Divisional Railway Manager & Chairman, DRUCC graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Out of 21 Members of the committee representing a cross section of passengers, customers and other associations, 13 members attended the meeting virtually today.
At the outset, Shri Vavilapalli Rambabu, IRTS, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager & Secretary/DRUCC welcomed Shri Narendra A. Patil, DRM & Chairman, DRUCC, Shri M. Srikanth, ADRM, Operations, DRUCC Members and thanked the Committee Members for their contribution and guidance towards providing better amenities for rail users of the Division.
Addressing the DRUCC Members, Shri Narendra A. Patil, DRM said that revenue of the Division till October, 2023 is promising with Rs. 813.78 crores from passenger segment, Rs. 2232.16 crores from Goods freight and the Gross revenue is Rs.3143.69 crores. With regard to Special trains and Augmentation of Express trains DRM shared that 413 nos. of special trains were run till Oct-23 and 1210 nos. of additional coaches were augmented to the trains over this division. DRM also said that the emphasis in next one year would be developing the 20 major stations of Vijayawada under “Amrit Bharat Station Scheme” for major up gradation of infrastructure and passenger amenities at these stations. DRM highlighted that 24.165 Km new line was commissioned under 3rd line works in Vijayawada- Gudur section & 6 Km length of Bye-Pass line was commissioned between Mustabada and Rayanapadu stations on account of construction of ROR (Rail over Rail) in the current financial year. DRM stressed that Division is expediting essential passenger amenities like lifts, Escalators and FOB’s on war footing and briefed them that 16 no.s of 12 meter wide FOB’s, 23 escalators at 9 stations and 28 lifts at 4 stations are being planned as part of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Shri Narendra A. Patil emphasized that Divisional officers and staff are trying their best to meet the developmental aspirations of people, besides running the system in good health by undertaking maintenance, safety related works, track strengthening works and ensuring passenger safety as top priority.
Shri M. Srikanth, ADRM Operations thanked esteemed DRUCC members for their valuable suggestions and support to improve the services and amenities to our passenger. ADRM appealed to the esteemed passengers through DRUCC members to refrain from Alarm Chain Pulling, Carrying of Inflammables on trains and trespassing which are affecting our punctuality performance.
DRUCC Members thanked Shri Narendra A. Patil, Chairman/DRUCC & DRM for the support and expressed their satisfaction on the Divisional performance especially in the areas of passenger amenities and critical infrastructure. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Shri Ch. Pradeep kumar, DCM, Vijayawada.
