Four Employees of Vijayawada Division receive GM SCR’s “Man of the Month” Safety Awards for October-2023
Shri Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway presented General Manager’s “Man of the Month” Safety Awards to 4 Employees of Vijayawada Division for showing alertness in the duty and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions today i.e., 14th November, 2023. Shri Narendra A Patil, DRM presented the awards during the virtual safety meeting held on 13th October 2023. Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway along with Principal Heads of Departments from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, and Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six Divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Nanded Divisions meeting through video conference.
The General Manger
reviewed the safety preparedness of the Zone. He instructed the officials to conduct
regular safety drives, night inspections in the sections to notice the
deficiencies in the system and to ensure alertness and avoid untoward
incidents. He advised all the Divisional Railway Managers to expedite the elimination
of Level Crossings (LCSs) target set for the financial year. Shri Narendra A
Patil, DRM while giving the awards congratulated the staff for their alertness
and prompt action on Duty. DRM suggested the Safety Departments to daily
monitor the Inspection reports by Officials and immediately act upon
deficiencies noticed in the section.

Vijayawada Division bagged the “Man of the Month” Safety Awards for the month
of October 2023
1. Shri R.Ashru
Naidu, Track Maintainer-IV (Gateman) of Engineering Department received Safety
Award for observing Crack in Point No. 19B LH tongue rail on 12.10.2023 at
03.30 Hrs. at Km 459/16-18 between Nuzvid &Telaprolu and intimating
regarding the crack to the concerned supervisor. He prevented unsafe condition
for train movement, & unnecessary delay in train services. Also provided
the wooden blocks & imposed the Caution Order -Speed Restriction of 30 Kmph.
2. Shri K.Satish
Babu, Goods Loco Pilot, Vijayawada Station of Operating Department for noticing
Rail Breakage on adjacent line at Km. 423/40B at Krishna Canal Junction. He
immediately alerted the LP of adjacent train on another track and Station
Manager, Krishna Canal on walkie-talkie and after confirming the acknowledgement
from them he proceded further. Thus, the alertness and keen observation of the
LP and prompt reporting of the serious abnormality of the defect in adjacent
TRACK has averted a possible disaster and disturbing in train services

Shri P. Avinash, Technician-I/C&W/Gudur of Mechanical Department while
performing Rolling-in-examination of Tr.No. 13352 (ALLP-DHN) Exp, he has
noticed Trailing Trolley right side wheel shelling and trailing trolley leading
right side Lower Control Arm Fixing block missing and locking plate with 2
bolts are also missing on Coach No. ECR LWACCN 141020 (B-1), 7th from Train
Engine. The said coach was detached on arrival the train at Platform at Gudur.
4. Shri S. Veera Reddy, Sr. Technician, C&W, Rajahmundry, while performing Rolling-in-examination he has noticed trailing trolley leading wheel left side lower control arm in hanging condition on NFR LWSCN 196287 (8th from TE) on Train No. 12514 (GHY-SC). On arrival to PF-01 staff checked and found control arm all six bolts were missing and hanging on support of primary damper. Front cover bottom two bolts were also missing.
