Shri K. Raveen Kumar Reddy, PCCM, SCR holds Business Development Meeting with Port Officials of Vijayawada Division

                 Mega fortress Check Organized at Vijayawada Railway Station 

Shri K. Raveen Kumar Reddy, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, South Central Railway along with Shri Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division held Business Development Meeting with all Official of Port Authorities in the jurisdiction of Vijayawada Division today i.e., 18th November, 2023 at Divisional Conference Hall, Vijayawada. The meeting was held to explore various options to give impetus to the freight traffic and revenue of the Division.

At the outset, Shri Narendra A. Patil, DRM welcomed the Port Officials and thanked them for the support rendered. DRM stated that revenue projections of Division in FY 2023-24 are looking promising and surging ahead with good momentum. He suggested them to reduce the turnaround time of goods rakes and improve the volumes of traffic to help us serve them better.

 Shri K. Raveen Kumar Reddy, PCCM reviewed the loading trends, targets and commodity wise loading performance of Vijayawada Division. He discussed the commodity wise loading projections for the rest of year and upcoming FY 2024-25 with the officials of all the ports handling freight cargo over the Divison. Shri K. Raveen Kumar Reddy advised the Branch officials to analyse the Road despatch scenario over the Division and negotiate with the Targeted Freight Customers by explaining the beneifts, advantages, concessions offered through rail transport for tapping the maximum potential. PCCM discussed in length regarding the status of upcoming Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal/ Ports at Bikkavolu, Mahilipatnam, Ramayyapatnam and Kakinada Gateway Ports and their traffic projections. He advised the officials to expedite the projects by adopting collaborative coordination strategy rather than mere participatory means. PCCM assured full scale assistance, guidance and support to the port officials from Zone and Division to reach the common objective of increased traffic.

Officials of Machiliptanm Port, Adani Krishnapatnam, Kakinada Sea Port, Ramayyapatnam port, Kakinada Gateway Port Ltd. took part in the Business Development Meeting.

In the evening, Shri K. Raveen Kumar Reddy, PCCM inspected the passenger amenities, waiting halls, working of ATVM Machines at Vijayawada Railway Station.

A Mega Fortress check was also conducted at Vijayawada Station with around 44 Ticket Checking Staff and 10 RPF Personnel under the supervision of Shri K. Raveen Kumar Reddy, PCCM. Ticket checking Squads and RPF were deployed on all the Platforms and entry/ exit points were regulated. PCCM advised the officials to hold frequent checks to curtail the menace of ticketless and irregular travel.

Shri Rambabu Vavilapalli, Sr. DCM; Shri D. Narendra Varma, Sr. DOM, Dr. Pradeep Chiluka, DCM; Shri Sathya Swarup, DOM Goods, Inspectors and Staff of Vijayawada Division took part in Business Development Meeting.
