75th Republic Day Celebrations

 Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway celebrated 75th Republic Day at Railway Mini Stadium, Vijayawada today, i.e., on 26th January, 2024. Shri Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, South Central Railway graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Shri Narendra A Patil, DRM unfurled the Indian National Flag on the eve of Republic Day. DRM inspected the parade contingents of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Scouts & Guides along with Shri Valleswara. B. Thokala, Sr. Divisional Security Commissioner, Vijayawada and received the ‘Guard of Honour’. Addressing the gathering, Shri Narendra A Patil, DRM conveyed his hearty greetings to SCR Railway employees and their families on the momentous occasion of the 75th Republic Day. After the conclusion of parade, Shri Narendra A Patil read out the General Manager’s Message and briefed about the achievements of Vijayawada Division during the current financial year.

Vijayawada Division reports best ever freight performance in financial year 2023-24 with Freight earnings amounting to Rs. 3012.58 Crore. The division achieved record earnings of Rs 49.92 Crore in ticket checking thereby curbing unauthorized travelling in trains. 20 railway stations are being redevelopment under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme to provide world class amenities to the rail passengers. Rail coach restaurants in Vijayawada and Rajahmundry provide premium dining experience with hygiene and quality food. Digital payments in unreserved ticketing are being encouraged through UTS app and ATVMs at all stations over Vijayawada division. Escalators and lifts are provided in 16 stations over division for serving Divyangjan and senior citizen passengers

Shri Narendra A Patil presented ‘Certificate of Merit’ to 20 employees who rendered exemplary services. DRM also appreciated RPF battalions and Scouts & Guides. Students of Jack and Jill and SKCV Child Trust performed various cultural programmes and enthralled the spectators. Kids performed fashion show by getting dressed in the attire of iconic freedom fighters. Scouts & Guides team performed tribal dance. DRM and Branch Officers distributed chocolates to all the school students who took part in the event. Shri M Anirudh, APO/BZA proposed vote of thanks

Shri D Srinivasa Rao, ADRM (Infrastructure), Shri M. Srikanth, ADRM (Operations), Branch Officers, Members of SCR Women’s Welfare Organisation, Other Officers and Staff took part in the Republic Day Celebrations.

Shri Narendra A Patil also inaugurated Sakhi Mini Mart, a provision store for the colony residents at Railway Employees Colony, Vijayawada which is being run by SCRWWO, Vijayawada.
