Vijayawada Division celebrates 68th Railway Week

 DRM presents ‘Rail Seva Puraskar’ 2023 to 51 Awardees

South Central Railway – Vijayawada Division celebrated 68^th Railway Week Divisional Level Function at Railway Auditorium, Vijayawada today i.e., on 3^rd January 2024. Shri Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, SCR graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Shri D. Srinivasa Rao, ADRM (Infrastructure) and Shri M Srikanth, ADRM (Operations) were the Guests of Honour.

At the outset, Shri Katta Anand, Sr. Divisional Personnel Officer welcomed the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour on to the dais and delivered the welcome address. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Narendra A Patil, DRM said that the Division has performed exceptionally well on the safety front without any major incidents and casualties during the past financial year. He also said the Division earned Rs.5311.98 Crore during 2022-23 and achieved the freight loading of 34.35 Million Tonnes, which is 9.13% higher than the last year. DRM said that on infrastructural front, 20 Railway stations over Vijayawada Division are being developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme to provide modern passenger amenities ensuring well-designed traffic circulation, inter-modal integration and signage for the guidance of passengers.

Shri Narendra A Patil congratulated the 51 Awardees for rendering exemplary services during 2022-2023. He also said that these individual awardees represent the disciplined workforce of the entire Division and suggested every employee to work hard with dedication. DRM advised all the field staff to work in a coordinated and constructive manner to ensure safety of passengers by according top priority to safety & punctuality of train operations. Shri M Anirudh, APO proposed vote of thanks and concluded the event. 

Around 200 Staff from across the Vijayawada Division along with the Branch officers attended the programme to make it a grand success.
