Railway Protection Force, Vijayawada Division Achieves Significant Milestones in Passenger Safety and Crime Prevention for 2024-25
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Vijayawada Division has once again demonstrated outstanding efficiency in safeguarding railway assets, ensuring passenger security, and enforcing law and order across the railway network. Through relentless efforts and strategic operations, the RPF has successfully apprehended offenders, rescued vulnerable individuals, and recovered stolen property, reinforcing its commitment to a secure railway environment.
Shri Narendra A. Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway, extended heartfelt congratulations to Shri Valleswara B.
Thokala, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, and the entire RPF team for their exemplary service in securing railway premises and safeguarding passengers during 2024-25. Emphasizing the division’s unwavering dedication to security, Shri Narendra A. Patil reaffirmed that RPF Vijayawada Division will continue to enhance security measures and vigilance efforts to provide passengers with a safe and seamless travel experience.
The following key achievements underscore RPF
Vijayawada Division’s commitment to safety and law enforcement:
1. Operation
Nanhe Faristey – The RPF
rescued 257 vulnerable children in distress, ensuring their safety and
providing necessary assistance and protection.
2. Mission Rail
Suraksha – The RPF
intensified crime prevention efforts, apprehending 104 offenders and recovering
stolen railway property worth ₹6.74 lakh, marking an increase from ₹4.99 lakh
in 2023-24.
3. Operation
Amanat – Demonstrating
efficiency in passenger service, the RPF successfully retrieved and returned
679 left-behind luggage items valued at ₹2.29 Crore, reuniting passengers with
their belongings.
4. Mission Yatri
Suraksha – In a significant
stride towards passenger safety, the RPF effectively tackled 85 theft-related
crimes, nabbing 54 robbers and recovering stolen property worth ₹64.70 lakh,
which was returned to rightful owners.
5. Operation
NARCOS – The RPF reinforced its
crackdown on illegal substances, seizing 336 kg of Ganja valued at
₹16.76 lakh. A total of 28 offenders were apprehended, and 25 Ganja-related
cases were registered in 2024-25.
6. Operation
Upalabdh – Strengthening
its digital enforcement efforts, the RPF cracked down on touts involved in the
illegal sale and blocking of railway reservation tickets. A total of 65
offenders were apprehended, and 576 future journey tickets were seized, along
with 424 IRCTC user IDs.
7. Railway
Act Violations – Ensuring
compliance with railway safety regulations, the RPF booked 17,988 cases under
various sections of the Railway Act, 1989, reinforcing discipline among
passengers.
8. Littering
and Tobacco Act Violations – As
part of its cleanliness and public awareness initiatives, the RPF booked 1,898
cases of littering and 1,210 cases under the Tobacco Act in 2024-25, collecting
fines amounting to ₹2,92,900. Intensive public awareness campaigns were
conducted to curb littering and smoking in railway premises.
The Vijayawada Division RPF remains steadfast

railway network. With continued vigilance and strategic initiatives, the RPF is
