SCRWWO Donates Advanced Physiotherapy Equipment to Divisional Railway Hospital, Vijayawada
In a commendable step towards enhancing
healthcare services, the South Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation
(SCRWWO), Vijayawada Division, under the leadership of Dr. Varsha Patil,
President, SCRWWO Vijayawada, has donated a state-of-the-art physiotherapy
machine—Intellect Mobile Combo—to the Divisional Railway Hospital, Vijayawada.
The advanced physiotherapy unit, valued at
₹4.5 lakh, integrates Interferential Therapy (IFT), Transcutaneous Electrical
Nerve Stimulation (TENS), and other pain management modalities. This
cutting-edge equipment is designed to significantly improve post-operative
rehabilitation and physiotherapy outcomes for patients.
The Divisional Railway Hospital currently
serves approximately 60 physiotherapy patients daily, many recovering from both
major and minor orthopaedic surgeries. “Physiotherapy is an essential component
in the recovery process of inpatients. This donation will greatly aid in
accelerating patient rehabilitation and pain relief,” said Dr. Varsha Patil.
Dr. GMD Chary, MS, Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Railway
Hospital, noted that the facility performs around 300 major and 750 minor orthopaedic
surgeries annually. “Physiotherapy is indispensable in ensuring successful
recovery. This new machine is a welcome addition to our department,” he added.
Shri Ch. Srinivasu, Chief Medical
Superintendent, Vijayawada Division, stated, “This contribution will make a
tangible difference in our ability to treat patients more effectively and
comfortably.” Smt. K. Prabhavathi, Physiotherapist, too, expressed her
gratitude to SCRWWO.
