SCR Vijayawada Division’s Traction Distribution Department awarded Prestigious ISO 9001:2015 Certification – A First in Indian Railways

In a landmark achievement, Shri Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway proudly announced that the Traction Distribution (TRD) Department of Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway, has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certification.

This prestigious certification covers 22 strategic locations — including TRD Depots, TRD Offices, and the TRD Store — and recognises the quality maintenance of Overhead Equipment (OHE) and power supply installations crucial for the safe and efficient movement of electric locomotives.

The certification has been issued by QRO Certifications, a reputed certification body, through Harsha Technologies, Hyderabad, after a series of rigorous and comprehensive audits assessing the quality and consistency of service delivery.

With this milestone, Vijayawada Division becomes the first division in Indian Railways to receive ISO 9001:2015 certification for its entire TRD Department — a testament to its commitment to safety, reliability, and excellence in railway operations.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Narendra A. Patil, DRM extended heartfelt congratulations to Shri Ch. Dinesh Reddy, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Sr. DEE/TRD/BZA), and the entire team of the Traction Distribution Department for their exemplary dedication and sustained efforts in elevating service standards. “This certification is not just a recognition — it's a responsibility to maintain the highest quality and safety standards for uninterrupted passenger services across the Division,” added the DRM.

This achievement adds a proud feather to the cap of the Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway and reaffirms its leadership in quality-driven railway infrastructure and operations.
