‘Blood Grouping & Typing Camp’ Conducted at ETTC, Vijayawada
Dr. M. Jaideep, Additional Chief Medical
Superintendent (Health & Family Welfare), addressed the gathering and
emphasised the critical role of blood donation in saving lives. He noted that “blood
donation is a noble act that transcends boundaries and directly saves lives.
Knowing your blood group is the first step toward being a prepared and
responsible donor. Through such camps, we hope to cultivate a culture of
voluntary blood donation among our staff and youth.”
Adding to the momentum of the event, Shri A.
Seetharam, Principal, ETTC, made an earnest appeal to the trainees, encouraging
them to embrace blood donation as a civic and humanitarian duty. “Donating
blood is one of the simplest ways to make a difference,” he said. “I
urge every trainee to come forward and be part of this life-saving mission.
Today’s awareness is tomorrow’s action.”
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from
around 50 railway employees and trainees who underwent blood grouping and
typing tests. Dr. G Prasanna Laxmi, Sr. Divisional Medical Officer, Satyanarayanapuram
Health Unit, personally handed over blood group certificates to the
participants. The 2025 theme, “Give blood, give hope & together we save
lives,” was prominently highlighted throughout the event, inspiring attendees
to contribute to the larger cause of public health.
