Changes in the pattern of Train Services-SR Bulletin 1

Following the fire accident near Tiruvallur Overhead power supply has been put off as safety precautions. All efforts have been taken to put off the fire, hence the following changes have been made in the pattern of train services:

Trains fully cancelled:

 Train No. 20607 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Mysuru Vande Bharat Express scheduled to leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 05.50 hrs on 13th July, 2025 is fully cancelled

 Train No. 12007 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Mysuru Shatabdi Express scheduled to leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 06.00 hrs on 13th July, 2025 is fully cancelled

 Train No. 12675 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Coimbatore Kovai Superfast Express scheduled to leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 06.10 hrs on 13th July, 2025 is fully cancelled

 Train No. 12243 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Coimbatore Shatabdi Express scheduled to leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 07.15 hrs on 13th July, 2025 is fully cancelled

 Train No. 16057 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Tirupati Saptagiri Express scheduled to leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 06.25 hrs on 13th July, 2025 is fully cancelled

2. Train No. 12672 Mettupalayam – Dr MGR Chennai Central Nilgiri Superfast Express that left Mettupalayam at 21.20 hrs on 12.07.2025 is short terminated at Thiruvalangadu

3. Train No. 16022 Ashokapuram - Dr MGR Chennai Central Kaveri Express that left Ashokapuram at 20.40 hrs on 12.07.2025 is short terminated at Thiruvalangadu

Following the fire accident near Tiruvallur Overhead power supply has been switched off as a safety precaution. All efforts have been taken to put off the fire.

Consequently, the following are changes in the pattern of train services:

1. Train No. 16204 Tirupati  - Dr MGR  Chennai Central that left Tirupati at 06.25 hrs on 13th July,2025 is diverted via Gudur skipping stoppages at Tiruttani, Arakkonam, Tiruvallur and Perambur

2. Train No. 22159 Mumbai CST – Dr MGR Chennai Central Express that left Mumbai CST at 12.45 hrs on 12th July, 2025 is diverted via Gudur skipping stoppages at Tiruttani, Arakkonam, Tiruvallur and Perambur

3. Train No. 11017 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Karaikal Express that left Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 13.15 hrs on 12th July, 2025 is diverted via Gudur skipping stoppage at Perambur

Fire Incident in Goods Wagon – Train Services Affected

This morning, a goods wagon carrying oil caught fire near Tiruvallur Railway Station. The fire affected the last four wagons of the train.

As a precautionary and safety measure, all EMU local train services in the Chennai–Arakkonam section were temporarily suspended.

Due to this incident:

8 Express trains have been cancelled

5 Express trains have been diverted

8 trains have been short-terminated

Fire and rescue services, along with railway officials, were immediately deployed and are actively managing the situation at the site. Restoration work is in progress, and normal train operations will resume at the earliest.

Passengers are requested to plan their journey accordingly.
