Vijayawada Division Celebrates ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ with Patriotic Zeal

The Vijayawada Division of Indian Railways proudly joined the nationwide celebration of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, echoing the spirit of patriotism and unity across its offices, schools, and stations. The initiative, envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, is a tribute to India’s 75 years of independence and aims to deepen the emotional connection of citizens with the national flag.

At the heart of the celebrations was a stirring address by Shri Mohit Sonakiya, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Vijayawada Division, SCR, who applauded the commitment of railway employees and their role in nation-building. “Railway men are the backbone of Indian Railways, a vital lifeline of our country. By serving the people, we are, in essence, serving the nation,” he stated. He emphasised that hoisting the Tricolour is not merely a symbolic act but a powerful expression of gratitude to freedom fighters and a reaffirmation of our collective belief in India’s bright future.

The DRM further encouraged all staff to actively participate in the campaign, ensuring that every station, office, and home under the Division proudly displays the National Flag. The atmosphere was filled with patriotic energy as National Flags were distributed to staff and students.

In collaboration with the local community, three schools, viz., Jack & Jill School, Kendriya Vidyalaya (Vijayawada), and ICON Public School, joined the celebrations. Over 300 students participated in a Patriotic Film Festival organised at the Division Auditorium, immersing young minds in stories of India’s valour and unity. A Quiz Competition was also held for the students of all three schools, testing their knowledge of the freedom movement, national symbols, and civic values. In the afternoon, a Rangoli Competition brought a splash of colour and cultural flair, showcasing artistic tributes to India’s heritage and ideals.

Adding to the vibrancy of the campaign, selfie booths are creatively set up by the Commercial Department at Vijayawada railway station and Divisional offices, allowing citizens and staff to capture moments of national pride.

In his concluding remarks, Shri Mohit Sonakiya, DRM, extended heartfelt appreciation to the Personnel Department for their excellent coordination and conduct of all the events and to the Commercial Department for their innovative contribution through the selfie booths. The day stood as a testament to the Division’s unwavering dedication to celebrating India’s legacy and inspiring future generations.
