SCRWWO Vijayawada Division Successfully Organises Railway Board On-Spot Essay and Drawing Competitions
The South Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation, Vijayawada Division (SCRWWO/BZA), successfully organised Railway Board on-spot Essay and Drawing Competitions on 14th and 21st September 2025 across multiple locations, including Vijayawada, Samarlakota, Tuni, Eluru, Rayanapadu, Tenali, Ongole, Bhimavaram, and Machilipatnam. Over 400 children of Railway employees enthusiastically participated in the competitions, showcasing their creativity and artistic skills. The program was aimed at fostering literary and artistic expression among children and received enthusiastic appreciation from participants, parents, and staff.
A cleanliness drive was also undertaken at Jack & Jill School, Vijayawada as part of the ongoing Swachhotsav – Swacchta Hi Seva 2025 initiative, reinforcing the values of cleanliness and responsibility among the young participants. Special thanks were extended to the Jack & Jill School staff, Sectional Welfare Inspectors, and Personnel Branch staff for their wholehearted support in organising and conducting the events smoothly.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Versha Sonakiya, President of SCRWWO/BZA, said, “The enthusiasm and creativity displayed by our children were truly inspiring. Events like these not only highlight their talent but also strengthen the bonds of our Railway family. We are proud to provide a platform for these young artists and writers to shine, and we look forward to seeing their bright futures unfold.”
The Essay Competition held on September 14 featured age-specific themes:
• Group I (6–9 years): My Favourite Dish or A Fun Day at My Grandparents’ House
• Group II (10–12 years): How I Spend My Sundays or My Favourite Indian Festival
• Group III (13–15 years): Is AI Going to Be a Threat or Benefit for the Future? or My Vision of India in 2047
The Drawing and Painting Competition held on September 21 included:
• Group I (6–9 years): Family Outing or My Favourite Animal
• Group II (10–12 years): My Super Hero, Spaceship, or Astronaut
• Group III (13–15 years): Festival of Your Choice (Celebration) or Scene of a Forest with Animals
The competitions were successfully coordinated under the leadership of the SCRWWO/BZA team: Smt. Versha Sonakiya – President, Smt. Swapna Varun – General Secretary, Smt. Vasanthika – Joint General Secretary, Smt. Krishna Chaitanya – School Treasurer, Smt. Ramya – School Secretary, and members Smt. Pavitra and Smt. Ramadevi.
