Advisory on Cyclone ‘Montha’ – Travel and Safety Precautions
The India Meteorological
Department (IMD) has predicted that Cyclone ‘Montha’ is likely to
intensify into a severe cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal and cross the
Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam and Kakinada around 28th October
2025. As a precautionary measure, Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway,
has placed all departments on high alert to ensure the safety of passengers,
staff, and railway assets.
In view of the forecast of
heavy rains and strong winds along the coastal areas from October 27 to 29,
passengers are advised to travel only if absolutely necessary during
this period. The situation is being closely monitored by the Division’s control
rooms, which are functioning round-the-clock to coordinate operations and
emergency response.
