Amrit Samvaad Conducted at Vijayawada Railway Station

 









 

Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway today organised Amrit Samvaad at the Gandhi Waiting Hall, Platform No. 1 of Vijayawada Railway Station on 17th October 2025. The programme was held as part of the citizen engagement initiative under the Special Campaign 5.0 to foster open interaction between passengers and railway authorities.


Shri Srinivas Rao Konda, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations), Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The session witnessed active participation from passengers, who raised a variety of queries and suggestions relating to train services and station amenities. Prominent feedback included requests for a new train service between Vijayawada and Bangalore, enhanced RPF presence and deployment of more female RPF personnel, installation of larger digital display boards, greater use of social media platforms for passenger information, and an update on the development status of Amaravathi Station.


Addressing the gathering, Shri Srinivas Rao Konda, ADRM stated, “Amrit Samvaad is a platform that truly connects Railways with the people it serves. It embodies the spirit of citizen partnership envisioned in the Panch Pran of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. The suggestions received today reflect passengers’ commitment towards improving rail services, and every feedback will be carefully examined for implementation. Our goal is to make stations like Vijayawada inclusive, efficient, and reflective of the aspirations of a modern India.”


He also highlighted that Amrit Samvaad is inspired by the traditional Chaupal concept, bringing together citizens and officials for open discussion and collaborative development. A film on the Amrit Stations and Amrit Samvaad was also showcased to created awareness.


The interaction focused on enhancing passenger experience, promoting inclusivity, and aligning station redevelopment with sustainability and accessibility goals.


Shri M. Vamsikanth, Senior Divisional Engineer (Environment and Housekeeping Management); Ms. Nusrat M. Mandrupkar, Public Relations Officer; and Smt. Sailaja, Station Director, Vijayawada Station, were also present during the event.
