SCR General Manager Presents “Employee of the Month – Safety
Awards” to Vijayawada Division Staff
Shri Sanjay
Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway presented the “Employee of the Month
– Safety Awards” to three staff members of Vijayawada Division during the
Safety Review Meeting held today at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. The meeting
also reviewed the safety preparedness measures in view of the impending Cyclone
“Montha.”
The awardees were recognized for
their exemplary alertness and prompt actions that ensured the safety of train
operations:
Shri K. Narsimha Rao, Loco Pilot
(Goods), Rajahmundry
for exercising alertness while working a goods train and detecting abnormal
track sound near Nuzvid during fog conditions, immediately coordinating with
P.Way staff and ensuring train safety by proceeding cautiously at walking
speed.
Shri Pedagadi Srinivas Rao, Station
Master, Telaprolu
for his quick response in detecting smoke from a coach of Konark Express and
alerting the nearby station and level crossing gate staff, which enabled
immediate stoppage of the train and timely action to avert a possible fire
hazard.
Shri P. Madhava Rao, Track
Maintainer-II, Kavali
for promptly noticing the parting of a goods train while on gate duty and
taking swift action to inform station staff and protect the train, preventing
any potential mishap.
While presenting the awards, the
General Manager appreciated the employees for their vigilance, presence of
mind, and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in train
operations. He stated that such acts of alertness set an example for all and
contribute significantly to ensuring the safety of passengers and railway
assets.
Shri Srivastava emphasized that the
“Employee of the Month – Safety Award” is a recognition of dedication,
responsibility, and teamwork, and it serves as a motivation for all employees
to remain proactive and safety-conscious in every aspect of their duties.
Earlier, the General Manager
conducted a comprehensive review of safety and preparedness measures to tackle
the “Montha” cyclonic storm, with participation from Principal Heads of
Departments and Divisional Railway Managers through video conference.
