Resolution to Further Strengthen the Promotion of Hindi at the 70th Meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Vijayawada
The 70th meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC),
Vijayawada, was successfully held on 13th November 2025 at the
Divisional Railway Manager’s Conference Hall, Vijayawada. The meeting was
chaired by Shri Mohit Sonakiya, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada
Division, South Central Railway, while Shri Srinivas Rao Konda, Additional
Divisional Railway Manager (Operations), attended as Vice-Chairman. Shri
Anirban Kumar Biswas, Deputy Director (Implementation), Bengaluru, attended the
meeting as Special Invitee, and Dr. Shyam Sundar Sahu, Deputy General Manager
(Official Language), South Central Railway, graced the occasion as
Distinguished Guest.
Representatives
and heads from 63 Central Government offices in Vijayawada town participated in
the meeting. Shri Hemant Wadekar, Member Secretary, TOLIC and Sr. Rajbhasha
Adhikari, presented the progress report of the previous meetings and gave a
detailed account of the activities carried out by the various Offices.
In his address,
Shri Mohit Sonakiya, Divisional Railway Manager and TOLIC Chairman, said,
“Hindi is an integral part of our work culture. The more we use Hindi in
administrative work, the more we enhance transparency and efficiency. Every
office should make Hindi a natural medium of its daily functioning.” He also
emphasised the importance of active participation by the heads of offices in
such meetings.
Shri
Konda Srinivas Rao, TOLIC Vice-Chairman and ADRM (Operations) welcomed the
dignitaries and remarked, “The promotion of Hindi as the Official Language
requires the collective efforts of all departments. By leveraging technology
and digital platforms, the use of Hindi can be made more practical and accessible.”
Special
Invitee Shri Anirban Kumar Biswas, Deputy Director (Implementation), Bengaluru,
stated, “The objective of the Government of India’s language policy is to make
communication simpler and more inclusive. We should focus on enhancing the
quality of work done in Hindi and motivating employees to use the language
effectively.” He also shared information about ‘Kanthasth 2.0’, an innovative
initiative designed to assist employees in the effective use of Hindi in
official work.
Distinguished
Guest Dr. Shyam Sundar Sahu, Deputy General Manager (Official Language), South
Central Railway, said, “Official Language Committees play a vital role in
translating the Government’s language policy into practical implementation.
Through TOLIC, we can not only strengthen the language but also improve the
overall quality of work.”
During
the meeting, representatives from various member offices shared their
experiences and appreciated the efforts of TOLIC, Vijayawada. Members
highlighted that the training programs, workshops, and competitions organized
by the Committee have significantly contributed to promoting the use of Hindi.
Some members also suggested that more resources and guidance should be provided
for Hindi usage in technical subjects and report writing.
In conclusion, Shri Hemant Wadekar, Member Secretary and Sr.RBA, expressed his gratitude to all dignitaries, officers, and members present and proposed a formal vote of thanks. He expressed confidence that TOLIC, Vijayawada, would continue to excel in the field of Hindi implementation and establish a distinct identity through its exemplary work in the times ahead.
