SCR Vijayawada Division conducts Comprehensive Mock Drill on Fire, Rescue & Bomb Explosion Safety at Tenali Railway Station

South Central Railway, Vijayawada Division, in association with the Civil Defence Organisation, successfully conducted a comprehensive Mock Drill on Fire Safety, Rescue, and Bomb Explosion Awareness at Tenali Railway Station today, i.e. 14th November 2025. The drill was held on Platform No.1. It focused on key emergency response areas, including fire safety procedures, ground rescue techniques, Basic Life Support (BLS), such as CPR, and awareness on handling bomb explosion scenarios. The exercise aimed to enhance the preparedness of railway staff and raise safety awareness among students and the general public.

Shri P. E. Edwin, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infra), Vijayawada Division, SCR graced the mock drill as the Chief Guest. Addressing the personnel, he emphasised the importance of continuous readiness and coordinated action during emergencies. He said, “Safety is not just a protocol, it is a collective responsibility. Regular drills like this help our teams stay sharp, confident, and fully prepared to respond effectively during critical situations, including derailments, fire accidents, and other emergencies.”

The event was conducted under the supervision of Shri P. V. Rami Reddy, Divisional Emergency Officer, CDO & Sr. Divisional Finance Manager, Vijayawada Division and Shri M. Dinesh Kumar, Civil Defence Staff Officer & Sr. Divisional Operations Manager, who attended as Guests of Honour. Both officials highlighted that the exercise was designed to strengthen the emergency response capabilities of railway personnel, educate citizens and students on vital life-saving methods like CPR, and reinforce public awareness on safety protocols during fire incidents and bomb threats.

The mock drill also serves to enhance coordination between railway authorities, civil defence teams, and emergency services, ensuring faster, more efficient responses during real emergencies. The Vijayawada Division continues to prioritise passenger safety through regular training and preparedness initiatives across all operational levels.
