Shri Gajanan Mallya, GM SCR participates in Massive Plantation Drive held at Rajahmundry

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway undertook an inspection of Vijayawada Division and participated in a massive plantation program at Rajahmundry Railway Station on 18th September, 2019. He was accompanied by Shri P. Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division and other officials during inspection of the section.

Shri Gajanan Mallya commenced his inspection from Rajahmundry Railway Station. He visited circulating area, station building, platforms, passenger amenities available in station and discussed developmental plans with the officials. Shri M. Bharat Ram, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajahmundry and Dr. S. Suryanarayana Reddy, Hon’ble MLA, Anaparti met the General Manager and discussed o­n the developmental plans pertaining to the region. Later, the General Manager along with Shri M. Bharat Ram and Dr. S. Suryanarayana Reddy participated in a massive plantation drive held at Rajahmundry railway station premises and distributed saplings & cloth bags for creating environment awareness to the school children and rail users. He also participated in cleanliness activity to make awareness o­n “Swachh Railway-Swachh Bharat” program.

The General Manager inspected Nidadavolu, Tadepalligudem, Eluru stations and conducted rear window inspection from Rajahmundry to Rayanapadu section. He inspected the safety equipment available at the workshop and enquired the staff about safety rules followed at work place. He also inaugurated conference hall in the workshop.

Later, Shri Gajanan Mallya held a detailed performance review of Vijayawada Division with Officials. He inaugurated the Integrated Block Management System which facilitates the various departments of railways in the regular system management activity as well as improvements. During the meeting he advised officials to improve the performance and emphasized for creating awareness during the o­ngoing Swachhata Pakhwara among the travelling public for avoiding the use of plastic and implement various methods of recycling of plastic in railway premises. Shri P. Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division and other officials were present during the review meeting.
