Rashtriya Ekta Diwas: Pledge administered and Run for Unity conducted
Commemorating 144th
Birth Anniversary of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel - The Iron Man
of India, South Central Railway – Vijayawada Division celebrated Rashtriya Ekta
Diwas (National Unity Day) with great zeal all over the Division on
31st October, 2019.

Ramaraju, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure), in the presence of
Smt. G. Sumana, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) administered
Unity Pledge to Branch Officers and staff at Divisional Office Compound,
Vijayawada. RPF staff along with Scouts & Guides conducted March-Past and saluted
the Indian National flag with Pride and Honour.
Later, Shri M.V.S.
Ramaraju, ADRM/Infrastructure, Smt. G. Sumana, ADRM/Operations along with Branch Officers and staff
participated in the “Run for Unity”, starting from
Divisional Office Compound to Railway Hospital and Vijayawada Railway station.
Interacting with print
and electronic media, Shri M.V.S. Ramaraju, ADRM said that the contributions of
Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to the nation are monumental and unparalleled.
ADRM also said that young generations should draw inspiration from the life of Shri
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a Staunch Nationalist who played a pivotal role in
integrating the entire nation and laid a strong foundation to United India.
Later, Nukkad
Nataks and cultural programmes were performed by RPF staff in front of huge
gathering on platform no.1 at Vijayawada Railway Station. Similarly, Unity
Pledge and cultural programmes were conducted by officers, station heads at all
major railway stations over the Division.
Short Video clips on life story of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel are
also played at all railway stations.
