Seminar conducted on Vigilance Awareness 28th October to 2nd November, 2019 Theme for this year: “Integrity- A way of life”

South Central Railway – Vijayawada Division conducted a Seminar on “Integrity – A way of life” on the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week in Railway Auditorium at Vijayawada on 30th October, 2019. Smt. Chandrima Roy, Sr. Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer, South Central Railway graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Shri P. Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.

In his welcome address, Shri M. V. S. Ramaraju, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure) said that “Integrity” is following the rules and regulations laid by the administration without any fear, favour, delay or deviation. He also said that all the staff has to review the provisions periodically and reiterate themselves and it will become a way of life.

Addressing the gathering, Shri P. Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager said that the aim of observing Vigilance awareness week is to achieve the goal of Integrity, Transparency and Accountability in the way of life. Explaining the importance of Vigilance, DRM said that as government employees, they are the trustees of public money and they are accountable for every single rupee. DRM advised the branch officers to be open to get feedback from the staff, show the way out for those who work with deceptive ways and most importantly respect those who work with integrity. He advised all the staff to be a vigilance department for themselves and work for betterment of the organization.

Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Chandrima Roy, Sr. Deputy General Manager said that all the staff has to keep revising and be up to date with the rules and regulations. SDGM said that Central Vigilance Commission’s aim to observe vigilance awareness week is to renew the commitment on integrity, transparency and accountability. Smt. Chandrima Roy said that accountability is something unique to government servants and every employee is accountable to the tax payers. She said that officers should also take accountability for actions. She also said that employees should take time for themselves and introspect their duties and responsibilities. Smt. Chandrima Roy said that South Central Railway stood in forefront in implementing all the schemes and transparency and congratulated Vijayawada Division for laying a big step towards “e-DAS”.

Smt. Chandrima Roy, SDGM and Shri P. Srinivas, DRM distributed awards to prize winners of various competitions conducted on the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week – 2019.

Smt. G. Sumana, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) thanked the Officers from SCR Head Quarters and the Division for giving valuable speech and power-point presentations on vigilance awareness and integrity. She also appreciated all the personnel branch staff for performing a beautiful skit and the audience for gathering in huge strength.

Earlier, a skit “Dhoshi” was performed by officers and staff of personnel branch portraying various responsible characters of the society indulging in corruption and the consequences they face in the Court of Lord Yamadharmaraja.
