Shri Birendra Bahadur Singh takes over as Additional General Manager, South Central Railway

Shri Birendra Bahadur Singh has taken over charge as Additional General Manager, South Central Railway on 17th October, 2019. He belongs to 1982 batch of Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE). Prior to his new posting, he was serving as Additional General Manager, South Western Railway.Shri B. B. Singh holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Roorkee and a Masters Degree in Power System from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He has also completed a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

He started his career o­n Indian Railways in 1984 and in over three decades of service, has held several important assignments o­n Northern, South Central, East Central and South Western Railways, besides the Chittranjan Locomotive Works. He also served in the Railway Board and o­n deputation to the Union Ministry of Urban Development.

Shri B.B.Singh commenced his service o­n Indian Railways as Assistant Electrical Engineer in Delhi Division of Northern Railway and went o­n to work in various capacities o­n Northern Railways before picking up assignment o­n deputation to Railway Board. O­n South Central Railway, he has worked as Chief Electrical Service Engineer and as Chief Electrical Locomotive Engineer. He was also Chief Project Manager (Railway Electrification) at Secunderabad and Divisional Railway Manager, Dhanbad Division, East Central Railway. o­n Chittranjan Locomotive Works, he served as Chief Electrical Engineer.
