Shri. Ramesh Kumar Jha, PED, Vigilance & CVO, Railway Board conducts meeting with DRM and Branch officers

Shri Ramesh Kumar Jha, Principal Executive Director, Vigilance & Chief Vigilance Officer, Railway Board conducted meeting with Shri. P. Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada and Branch officers ahead of Vigilance Awareness week starting from 28th October to 02nd November with the Theme of “Integrity – A way of life at Divisional Railway Conference Hall, Vijayawada on 17th October, 2019. Shri. M. Srinivas, Director, Vigilance, Engineering (I) Railway Board also accompanied the Railway Board member.

Shri P. Srinivas, DRM, Vijayawada welcomed Shri. Ramesh Kumar Jha and gave a power point presentation on Divisional Performance during the current financial year 2019-20. DRM appraised the Principal Executive Director about the ongoing infrastructure projects, doubling & tripling works undertaken by the Vijayawada Division and quality control measures implemented periodically during the supervision of the ongoing works. Shri. P. Srinivas also briefed about the new innovative concepts and various digital initiatives like e-office, e-DAS (Drawing Approval System), IBMS (Integrated Block Management Systems) & UMID implemented by the Division.

Speaking  on the occasion, Shri. Ramesh Kumar Jha, PED, Vigilance & CVO, Railway Board advised the Branch Officers to dispel the fear of Vigilance, keep conscience as compass and work for benefit of the Railway organization with integrity.  He also said that every Officer is a Vigilance officer and must support and encourage the loyal and dedicated staff performing duties with integrity. He also said that the main reasons for corruption are personal discretion, cumbersome methods, delayed legal procedures and overburdening of staff, which can be resolved by leveraging the use of technology, easy and simple procedures and proper delegation of work in a balanced way. 

Later,  Shri Ramesh Kumar Jha interacted with the Branch Officers and gave valuable suggestions on the subject of Tenders and obtained their feedback on the existing tender floating procedures. Shri. Ramesh Kumar Jha expressed his satisfaction over the Divisional Performance and appreciated the Shri. P. Srinivas, DRM, Vijayawada and Branch officers for their extraordinary efforts, innovative concepts and application of technology to simplify the procedures in day to day working. 

Shri P. Srinivas, DRM, Vijayawada proposed vote of thanks and concluded the meeting.
