Newly Inaugurated Gudur-Vijayawada-Gudur Intercity Express
Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Vice President of India inaugurated Train no. 12743/12744 on 1st September, 2019 at Gudur Railway station which is a long awaited dream for the people of Nellore district. This train provides easy access to capital city region of Andhra Pradesh connecting Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur and Krishna Districts.
Train No.12743/12744 Regular Services between Gudur – Vijayawada - Gudur (Daily):
Train No. 12744 Vijayawada - Gudur Intercity Super Fast Express will depart Vijayawada at 18:00 hrs from 2nd September, 2019 and arrive Gudur at 22:30 hrs on the same day.
In the opposite direction, Train No. 12743 Gudur - Vijayawada Intercity Super Fast Express will depart Gudur at 06:10 hrs from 2nd September, 2019 and arrive Vijayawada at 10:40 hrs on the same day.
Enroute, these trains will stop at Nellore, Kavali, Singarayakonda, Ongole, Chirala, Bapatla and Tenali stations.
Salient features of Train no. 12744/43 Gudur-Vijayawada-Gudur Intercity Express
- The power required for running fans/ lights and Air conditioning in coaches is drawn from Electric Loco instead of diesel fuel through Head On Generation (HOG) concept, which is an excellent initiative towards Green environment.
- This train caters to the needs of daily commuters and working class due to its convenient scheduled timings between Simhapuri region and the capital region of Andhra Pradesh.
- The rake is formed with all new LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches with speed potential of 160 kmph and with advanced Centre Buffer Coupling between coaches.
- The entire rake consists of 14 coaches with two AC chair car coaches, ten Non AC coaches and two Power cars with a seating capacity of 156 seats in AC Chair car and 1080 seats in Non AC Chair cars.
- This train provides comfortable day time travel with just 41/2 hours of journey time at competitive fare structures as compared with other means of transport.
- Green modular toilets (Bio-toilets) are provided in all coaches with an objective to keep the station premises clean and hygienic.
- Water Purifiers are installed in 07 non-A/c coaches.
- Large size window glasses are provided for panoramic view in all AC coaches.
- Automatic sliding door with sensors is provided in one AC coach.
- Sliding shutters are provided in AC coaches to avoid dropping of shutters from windows.
- Mini Pantry is provided in two AC chair cars and three Non-A/C coaches with cooler and hot case facilities.
- Pressurized Flush system is also in the coaches.
- Roller Binds are provided in AC coaches instead of cloth curtains.
