Pension Adalat conducted on Vijayawada Division

Vijayawada Division conducted Pension Adalat – 2019 at Railway Divisional Auditorium, Vijayawada today i.e., on 16.12.2019. Shri P. Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada graced the occasion as Chief Guest along with Shri M.V.S. Ramaraju, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure) Vijayawada. 

Shri. P. Nehemiah, Sr. Divisional Personnel Officer, Vijayawada welcomed the pensioners and appraised the gathering about the importance of organising Pension Adala every year. Speaking on the occasion, Shri P. Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager, said that the importance of the Pension Adalat is mainly redressal of the grievances related to Pension, Family Pension, Gratuity and settlement dues etc., DRM also suggested pensioners that they can approach the Personnel and Accounts Officers for redressal of their grievances, on any working day without waiting for the next Pension Adalat. Shri P. Srinivas stated that Vijayawada Division has a total strength of 25,000 pensioners and only 148 grievances were received during the current Adalat, which clearly reflects the efficiency of our Division in resolving the grievances.  Regional Adalats were conducted recently at Rajahmundry and Bittragunta for the convenience of the pensioners. DRM advised the pensioners to get enrolled for UMID(Unique Medical Identity cards) for availing of medical services at referral hospitals easily without any hassles.  DRM appreciated the response from pensioners and also the efforts of the organizers in achieving the objectives in settling the disputes amicably and resolving the grievances of the retired employees and their family members.

A total 148 cases have been registered on Vijayawada Division.  Out of 148 cases 129 non financial grievances were redressed and for 9 cases where payments are due an amount of Rs.11,05392/- has been arranged. A total of 24,097 Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) were generated after 7th CPC came into force and only 58 cases of PPOs are pending due to non availability of proper records and information.On the day of Pension Adalat 69 applications have been registered afresh and acknowledged for redressal.

Reprensatives of Pensioners Association and All India SC/ST associations lauded the efforts of Personnel & Accounts Department in clearing the grievances, implementation of revised grade pay from 4200/- to 4600/- on top priority..

Shri. P. Chandra Sekhar Babu, Sr, DFM,  Shri K. Balaraj DPO, and other officers, Welfare Inspectors and staff attended.
