Kakinada Port- Lokamanya Tilak Terminus Special Express upgraded with New Modern LHB Coaches
LHB coaches are anti-telescopic – safer, lighter, more comfortable and jerk-free, and they do not flip in case of a collision. LHB coaches are being introduced in a phased-manner replacing Integral Coach Factory (ICF) conventional coaches for enhanced safety. LHB coaches for most of the trains will help to improve travel comfort and to increase the speed at 120-130 km per hour. Unlike ICF- designed conventional coaches, the LHB coach’s carrying capacity is more along with high-speed potential. These coaches are made from chrome steel and are lighter as compared to ICF rakes. Every coach additionally has a complicated gas hydraulic brakes system for economical braking at higher speeds, “modular interiors” that integrate lighting into the ceiling, bag racks, and wider windows. The improved suspension of LHB rakes ensures a lot of riding restful for the train passengers compared to earlier rakes. The air-con system of the LHB coaches is of upper capability compared and is controlled by a silicon chip that is claimed to allow passengers higher comfort than the older coaches throughout the summer and winter seasons.
