Shri Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager flags off First in-house commissioned WAG9 (3-phase) Loco and inaugurates various facilities at Electric Loco Shed, Vijayawada
















Shri Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager visited Electric Loco Shed, Vijayawada and inaugurated various facilities today, i.e. on 11th November, 2021. Shri M Shrikanth, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Operations also accompanied DRM during the visit.

Shri Shivendra Mohan on his first visit to ELS after taking charge flagged off the First in-house commissioned WAG9 (3-phase) Loco at the outset. He then inaugurated a 65ton EOT crane for loco lifting & lowering purpose; and an Exploded view model of 3 phase TM. The newly constructed Ruby Kalavedika as part of Ruby Jubilee (40 years) celebration of ELS was also opened at the hands of the DRM. A newly installed Biogas plant was also inaugurated at ELS for Canteen service.
Later, DRM was briefed on the exemplary work done at the Electric Loco Shed by Shri Dinesh Reddy, Sr.DEE/ELS. Interacting with Officers and Staff of ELS, Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM expressed his satisfaction as this new machinery will help in enhancing the productivity of the Loco Shed and utilizing Biogas for Canteen will be more cost effective. He also congratulated the ELS team for maintaining ‘zero’ accident figure for the past two years.
DRM also inspected the staff facilities such as Ladies’ Resting Area, First Aid Centre, Canteen and expressed his satisfaction with the work culture being maintained at ELS. Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM asked the staff to make use of the newly constructed Ruby Kalvedika to further enhance their creative talents and keep the culture of the Nation alive through various activities.
He said he is happy to note ELS, Vijayawada is currently maintaining 212 Locos of both Conventional and 3-phase, which are running all over Indian Railways in various Passenger and Freight trains. He congratulated Shri Ch. Dinesh Reddy, Sr. DEE, Electric Loco Shed, Vijayawada and staff for successfully implementing various measures to increase the output and bagging the Lean Sigma Six certification and Other ISO Certifications related to Quality and Safety. He was optimistic that this would definitely have a positive impact on movement of coaching and goods trains across the Division due to increased Electric Loco Out turn.
