SCRWWO Organizes “Well-Being Pop Up” Fest at Jack & Jill High School, Vijayawada
South Central Railway Women Welfare Organization, Vijayawada organized a Well-Being Pop Up Fest on 26th February, 2022 at Jack & Jill English Medium School, Vijayawada. Dr. Vandana Srivastava, President, SCRWWO, South Central Railway graced the occasion as Chief Guest and inaugurated the Pop-Up Fest along with Dr. Jaya Mohan, President, SCRWWO, Vijayawada Division and team. The objective of this Pop-Up fest is to raise awareness regarding the importance of emotional intelligence among children and adults.
SCRWWO Vijayawada organized this fun-filled carnival with lot of activities that will give children opportunities to explore and become aware of their emotions and also to learn ways to handle them. Around 500 students from various schools took part in this fest with great enthusiasm.
At the outset, Dr. Vandana Srivastava, President, SCRWWO, SCR congratulated Dr. Jaya Mohan, President, SCRWWO, Vijayawada and team for organizing this carnival with lot of hard work and dedication. She said that such fun fest brings out the talent and would nurture the creativity of the kids. She said that due to the pandemic, lot of people are confined to their homes and taking part in these carnivals and live activities would be definitely beneficial for their mental and physical health. She also inaugurated newly developed Children’s Park at Jack & Jill School. Shri Sanjeev Kishore, General Manager, SCR also visited all the stalls along with Shri Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division and lauded the SCRWWO, Vijayawada wing for their brilliant efforts.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jaya Mohan, President SCRWWO, Vijayawada said that the activities conducted here are in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She said that this is a one-of-a-kind Well-Being Fest which is based on the objective that emotions give energy and insight and children learn through play. She said that our effort will be to strike a perfect balance between Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and Emotional Quotient (EQ) through fun activities. Along with the above activities there was an elocution competition, On-the-spot talent show and many other activities to engage the young minds. She said that not only children, many women entrepreneurs have come up voluntarily to showcase their art, handloom work which is a sign of women empowerment.
The highlights of the fest are EQ activities, Science Exhibition, Elocution competition, Talent Show, Food stalls, Potter’s wheel, Puppet show from Kakinada and many more activities were conducted.
