Shri G. John Prasad, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, SCR inspects Kakinada Port Station and Goods Sidings

Shri G John Prasad, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, South Central Railway conducted extensive inspection of Kakinada Port, Good Sheds and sidings on 8th February, 2022. Shri P. Bhaskar Reddy, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Vijayawada accompanied PCCM throughout the inspection.

Shri G John Prasad, PCCM, SCR commenced his inspection from Kakinada Port Station. PCCM inspected Booking office and Reservation Office at the main entrance. He inspected waiting halls, ladies waiting hall, catering stalls and on Platform No.1. He inspected Parcel office, TTE’s office, Station Manager’s Office and interacted with the Staff regarding their grievances and deficiencies noticed in daily working. He inspected the Foot Over Bridge, Island Platforms No.2&3 and the passenger amenities available. Shri G John Prasad, PCCM advised the staff to give top priority to passenger safety, cleanliness, punctuality and thorough maintenance of passenger amenities.

Later, PCCM inspected Kakinada Sea Port Limited (KSLK), and took part in the Merchants meeting at the siding. PCCM appealed the merchants to reduce detention of rakes and to ensure loading within the free time to increase the wagon turnaround of the Division. He also inspected the weighbridge and its functioning at KSLK. He inspected Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd. and Coromandel International Ltd. sidings and New Goods Complex at Kakinada and the amenities available there as he concluded the inspection.
