South Central Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides, Vijayawada District celebrates 165th Thinking Day

South Central Railway, Bharat Scouts and Guides Unit of Vijayawada celebrated 165th Thinking Day in the fond memory of Scouts & Guides founder Lord Baden Powell today i.e, 23rd February, 2022 at District Training Centre, Vijayawada. Dr. Jaya Mohan, President, SCRWWO Vijayawada, Smt. D. Sri Devi, Vice President, SCRWWO, Vijayawada graced the occasion as Chief Guests and inaugurated the concluding day ceremony. Shri M. Bala Muralidhar, District Secretary & Sr. Divisional Personnel Officer, Vijayawada Division was the Guest of Honour. SCR, Bharat Scouts & Guides, Vijayawada organized four days camp for Children starting from 20th February, 2022. Around 250 Scouts and Guides took part in various competitions like quiz, drama, March Past, drawing/painting, handicrafts, food stalls, village fair and First-Aid.

On the concluding day, Bharat Scouts & Guides conducted, Rangoli, Yoga Handicraft, drama and March Past competitions. Children enthusiastically  displayed various aerobic and acrobatic activities. Dr. Jaya Mohan, President, SCRWWO Vijayawada, witnessed the physical display by the students and presented mementoes to the winners of Rangoli and handicraft competition. Dr. Jaya Mohan said that students joining Scouts & Guides have a strong, healthy, active lifestyle and also develop passion for social service which would make them considerate and service-oriented citizens of the society in future. She also said that Scouts & Guides Organization plays a vital role in shaping the life of the students by building strong character, unbreakable spirit and social service as the core aspect right from young age. She congratulated Shri V.H Edward, District Organizing Commissioner (Scouts), Smt.Ch. Sowjanya, District Organizing Commissioner (Guides) for organizing the event in a befitting manner.

Shri D Srinivasa Rao, District Chief Commissioner & ADRM, Infrastructure, Vijayawada Division took part in the closing ceremony of the four day-long event and congratulated the Scouts and Guides Vijayawada, Unit for hosting various competitions for students. Shri D Srinivasa Rao presented mementoes and medals to the winners of Drama and other events.

Shri M Gopala Krishna, Assistant District Commissioner (Rovers) and Shri P Appala Raju, District Training Commissioner (Scouts), and staff took part in the event.
