Passenger Services Committee inspects Gudivada, Kaikaluru, Bhimavaram town & Junction Railway Stations

Members of Passenger Services Committee (PSC) constituted by Railway Board inspected Gudivada, Kaikuluru, Bhimavaram Jn. & Bhimavaram Town Stations today, i.e., 23rd February, 2022. Shri Gangadhar Talupula, Shri Ettumanoor Radhakrishnan and Shri. Shivaraj K Gandge took part in the station inspection progaramme and interacted with passengers. Shri P. Bhaskar Reddy, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Vijayawada Division, SCR accompanied the members of PSC throughout the inspection. The main objective of the inspection is to obtain passenger feedback on cleanliness, amenities, valuable suggestions for improvement and recommending steps for execution and implementation of steps concerning consumer’s insights on passenger services to Railway Board for implementation.

PSC members commenced the inspection programme from Gudivada. At the outset, Shri P. Bhaskar Reddy briefed the members about the Gudivada Station profile, footfall, special amenities for Divyangjan and passenger services available. At Gudivada Railway Station, PSC Members inspected Waiting hall, Drinking water troughs on Platform No.1. Members inspected the newly constructed FOB and inspected drinking water taps and catering stalls on PF 2&3, and also the RO water vending machines. During the inspection, Members frequently interacted with passengers and obtained their feedback on cleanliness, passenger amenities provided at the station. They inspected all the catering stalls, availability of Janata Khana, computerized billing machines, and availability of “No bill No pay” stickers on all catering stalls, CCTV surveillance systems and toilets. Members checked the licensee, vendors ID cards and license fee payment particulars at all the catering stalls. They also inspected along with amenities for Divyangjan..
Later, Members proceeded to Kaikaluru by road and conducted extensive station inspection by interacting with the passengers for their feedback. They inspected the food stalls and expiry dates of dairy products, waiting halls, and Divyangjan Toilets. PSC members advised the officials to, provide a greater number of CC cameras for surveillance and increase the number of dustbins on platforms.

In the afternoon PSC members inspected Bhimavaram Junction and Town stations thoroughly and interacted with Print and Electronic media. PSC members expressed their satisfaction with regard to the cleanliness and Passenger amenities and maintenance at the stations in Vijayawada Division.
