RPF performs ‘Band Display’ at Vijayawada Railway Station



Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav- 75 Years of Indian Independence

Railway Protection Force of  Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway organized ‘Band Display’ at East Main Entrance of  Vijayawada Railway Station on 04th July, 2022  to commemorate 75 years of  Indian Independence-  Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Shri Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Shri M. Srikanth, ADRM, Operations and Shri D. Srinivasa Rao, ADRM, Infrastructure were the Guests of  Honor. 

As the nation celebrates 75 years of its Independence, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi has envisioned the celebration of this year as “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Commemorating the momentous occasion,RPF Band consisting of 15 people from Zonal RPF Training Centre, Moula Ali, Secunderabad, South Central Railway performed at the event today. The RPF band played patriotic tunes to celebrate 75 Years of  Indian Independence and enthralled the passengers and spectators at Vijayawada Railway station. Public gathered in huge numbers to witness the event. The RPF Band of  SCR  also recently won first place at All India Band Competition conducted recently. 

Addressing the Public,  Shri Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager , Vijayawada  said that Vijayawada Division is  conducting line of  programmes as part of  Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and to promote the message of  Unity, Independence,  harmony and to glorify the valiant efforts of  our great freedom fighters. Shri Shivendra Mohan said that Indian  Railways plays vital role in connecting every nook and corner of  the country and hosting such events at Railway premises is the best way to spread the message of  Azaadi and to instill patriotic fervour among  people. DRM said that RPF Band play  an important role to instil discipline, to raise and move to the call for duty and an energy booster to keep the forces motivated. He appreciated the efforts of  Shri Valleswara B Thokala, Sr.DSC, Vijayawada and RPF Staff for enthusiastically organising the event in splendid fashion. Shri . Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager announced cash award of  Rs. 15000/- for the RPF Band for their enthusiastic performance  and with sheer discipline.


Shri G. Madhusudhan Rao, ASC, Ms Nusrat M Mandrupkar, PRO; Shri P.B.N Prasad, Station Director, Inspectors, RPF Staff and Staff from various departments participated in the event.
